What to see in Madrid

  • Puerta del Sol: This is the most famous square and Madrid where you will find the kilometer zero, the starting point of all the radial roads of Spain.   • Reina Sofia National Museum: the museum of modern art in Madrid, located in Madrid's Art Triangle, along with the Prado and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. The most notable collections are of Picasso, Dali and Miro.
  • Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum: Also located in the triangle of art it exposes masterpieces of many different styles and periods, mostly belonging to the private collection of the Thyssen-Bornemisza family.
  • Retiro Park: the largest urban park in Madrid is the green lung of the Spanish capital, with a large pond where you can sail with small boats or walk along green streets.
  • Plaza Mayor: in the heart of Madrid is the Plaza Mayor, surrounded by historic arcades which have seen many events throughout its history.
  • Puerta de Alcala: in Independence Square, where the Calle Alcalá starts, is located the famous Puerta de Alcala, one of the most important monuments of Madrid, opened in 1778.
  • Royal Palace: also called Eastern Palace is the official residence of Spanish royalty, although currently it’s only used for official ceremonies.
  • Plaza de Cibeles: between Paseo del Prado and Calle Alcalá is located Plaza Cibeles, where stands the famous Cibeles fountain with the big statue of the goddess Cybele on a cart drawn by lions. This is the designated place for all celebrations of the victories of Real Madrid football club.
  • Almudena Cathedral: is the most important church in Madrid, relatively modern to be a cathedral: its construction dates back from the late nineteenth century.
  • Cuatro Torres Business Area: this is the modern part of Madrid, represented by four modern skyscrapers of which the highest is 250 meters high.
  • El Rastro: in the center of Madrid every Sunday and holidays is celebrated this street market with over 400 years of history where you can find everything.
  • Malasaña: is the central district of Madrid famous for its trendy and alternative scene and lively nightlife. Do not miss a visit to this neighborhood if you want to experience a bit of Madrid Movida.
  • Atocha railway station: this is the main railway station in Madrid located in a spectacular building that hosts inside a stunning tropical garden.
